Our primary focus at Home Support North is to assist clients in maintaining their independence within their homes and communities. This involves a variety of tasks, such as providing personal care, aiding with household chores, preparing meals, helping with grocery shopping, attending appointments, participating in outdoor and community activities.
If you are eager to advance your career at Home Support North, we actively encourage our support workers to enhance their skills and knowledge. We provide options for studying and training, some of which are free or available at a subsidised cost. We believe in nurturing the growth of all our support workers in their roles.
To become a support worker with Home Support North, you need to meet certain criteria. A clean criminal history is essential, and you must possess a reliable vehicle. Additionally, a valid full driver’s licence, at a minimum the restricted level, is required.
If you’re new to this field, don’t worry. We provide comprehensive training even if you have no prior experience. All newly hired support workers will participate in a full day of induction training and ongoing support throughout your employment. For those who desire extra assistance, we offer a buddy system to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
Starting a new role can be overwhelming, but at Home Support North, we’re here to make it easier for you. During your first month, our recruitment team will assist you to find your feet in your new role. After that initial period, our dedicated Recruitment and HR team will be your go-to resource for any employment-related queries or concerns. Our Home Support North offices are also available to provide general support whenever you need it.
